This Privacy Policy explains what information Sarahah Plus collects when you use our website and mobile applications (together, the "Services"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information You Provide to Us

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Your name and username
  • Your email address (used for account verification, password recovery, and important account notices)
  • Your password (stored in encrypted/hashed form — we never store or can view your plain-text password)
  • A profile photo, if you choose to add one

We do not ask for or collect your date of birth, gender, or any other demographic information at registration.

2. Messages and Content

Sarahah Plus lets people send you anonymous messages and feedback. We store the content of messages sent and received through the Services so that your inbox works, and so we can review reported content for safety purposes. If you choose to make a message or post public on your profile, it becomes visible to other users and visitors.

3. Device & Usage Information

To operate and secure the Services, we automatically collect certain technical information, such as your device model, general approximate location (derived from your IP address, used to determine your country for language/content purposes), app usage activity, and a push-notification token if you enable notifications. This information helps us keep the Services secure, diagnose problems, and provide relevant hints when you use the sender-reveal feature described below.

4. The Sender-Reveal Feature (Subscribers)

Sarahah Plus offers an optional paid subscription that lets you see limited hints about who may have sent you an anonymous message. This feature is intentionally limited and does not expose another user's account, name, username, or email address. What it may show, depending on the sender, includes: the sender's general device type, their approximate country, roughly when they were last active, and how many messages they have previously sent you. If the sender used the service without an account, or is themselves a subscriber, no identifying hints are shown at all — only a message stating that their identity cannot be revealed. Privacy for the sender of a message matters to us just as much as privacy for the recipient.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

If you purchase a Sarahah Plus subscription, the purchase is processed entirely through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account. We do not collect or store your payment card details — that information is held by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. We receive confirmation of your purchase (such as the plan purchased, price, and renewal dates) so we can activate your subscription benefits and send you a confirmation email.

6. Information Visible to Other Users

Most of your information stays private. However, your name, username, profile photo, and any content you choose to make public are visible to other users and visitors by default. We never make your email address, password, or private messages public.

7. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Services
  • To verify your account and help you recover access if needed
  • To send you important account, security, and subscription-related emails
  • To send push notifications, if you have enabled them
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms of Use
  • To show advertising to non-subscribers, through our advertising partners
  • To diagnose crashes and technical problems so we can fix them

8. Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to help us run Sarahah Plus. We do not sell your personal information to anyone. The categories of service providers we use include:

  • Cloud storage providers, to securely host uploaded profile photos
  • Email delivery providers, to send account, verification, and subscription emails
  • Push notification services, to deliver notifications to your device
  • Advertising networks, to show ads to non-subscribers
  • Crash-reporting and diagnostics tools, to help us find and fix bugs
  • Apple App Store / Google Play Store billing systems, to process subscription payments

These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their specific function and are not permitted to use your data for any other purpose.

9. Content Moderation & Safety

We use automated filtering to help detect abusive or harmful language in messages. We also review accounts that are reported to us through our Support contact form. Depending on the nature of a violation, we may issue a warning requiring a correction (such as changing a name, username, or email address), or we may suspend an account immediately and permanently — in particular, for nudity, sexual content, or any content involving the exploitation of minors, which we have zero tolerance for. 10. Children's Privacy

Sarahah Plus is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use our Services, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we do not ask for date of birth at registration, we rely on enforcement after the fact: if we become aware that an account belongs to a child, we will terminate that account. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us using the information below so we can investigate and take action.

11. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the app. When you do, we permanently delete your profile, messages, posts, comments, follow relationships, subscription records, and profile photo. This action cannot be undone. We may retain limited information where required to comply with legal obligations or to resolve disputes.

12. Your Rights & Choices

You can review and update your name, username, and email address at any time from your account settings. You may disable push notifications from your device settings. To request a copy of your data, ask us a question about this policy, or request deletion of your data outside of the in-app option, contact us using the details below.

13. International Use

Sarahah Plus is available to users around the world. By using the Services, you understand that your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, in order to operate the Services described in this policy.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as through the app or by email. Continued use of the Services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
